Steve that is good news that Red Giant wants Edius users for their products. My only concern is I purchased Edius 7 based on the press release from grass Valley/Belden that stated it (Edius 7.4) read/worked with plural eyes files.

Guess you can't believe everything you read from Grass Valley/Belden....

Hi everyone here is one workflow you can try.
This is not an official workflow so there will be no support for this via our official Tech support .
This is to get everyone started who wants to see if this works for them.

        Required Tools

        EDIUS 7 (v.7.40)
        PluralEyes (v.3.5.4)

        Unofficial Workflow
        1. Start Plural Eyes.
        2. Add media to Plural eyes .
        3. The Smart start feature of Plural eyes will automatically create bins with the folder names you have created.
        4. Save the project to a selected location and give it name ( this will make EDIUS use the same name in the bin).
        5. Click the synchronize button. You will see that the clips will move on the Plural eyes timeline so they can be synced
        6. After the sync is completed click the export timeline button.
        7. Under Editor format choose Premiere Pro
        8. Under Timeline format select Final Cut Pro XML for Premiere. (“select create a sequence with audio content replaced in video clips” should be left unselected)
        9. After you have completed the settings click export.
        10. When the export is completed the exports list of Plural Eyes will open. Select the Project, right click and choose copy as path.
        11. Start EDIUS and make a project with the same settings(frame-rate and Frame size) as the assets you imported in Plural Eyes.
        12. In the opened EDIUS project go to File → Import Project → FCP XML
        13. In the filename dialog box, paste the path you copied under step 10 and press open.
(alternatively you can manually browse to the xml. )
        14. Edius will import the do the following:
It will import the audio and video the files in the bin and import a “synced sequence”: in the top folder will be named with same name you input in step 4
        15. Double click the “synced sequence” and it will open as a timeline sequence.
This will contain your synced video and Audio files.

Hope that this is useful to those who want to give this a spin. :)
        Steve

Great works like charm for 2 P2 video clips.
Works Good for 3 MPEG-2 Clips.
Give some errors for 2 AVCHD clips [ clips are too short for sync]
All athe way so far so good

EDIUS 7.40: does not work promised FCP XML import from PluralEyes

            Dear developers!
The new version of EDIUS 7.40 4884 new features:
            - Project importer supports FCP XML import from PluralEyes.
I tried to do the import project in EDIUS 7.40 4884 that was exported from the program PluralEyes 3.5. Unfortunately, I did not work, as the other members. The project is imported empty and nothing works.
I would like to clarify with you, what version of PluralEyes import project developers test the new version of EDIUS 7.40 4884?
How to do import the project?
            Thank you!

I studied the post # 18, the information was useful, thank you!
The project is imported, but there is a question:
I can not figure out what program channel panoramic separates the left and right in mono mode? :

This PluralEyes thus creating a project? Or is this project Edius imports so?
There is another option, you can work with sequent in which sound has been reduced:

But in this case is not seen where it begins and ends with the video because the sequent reduced.
Can I somehow make the channels within the sequence are not bred in panoramic and had each stereo track?
                Thank you!

I found some limitations when importing PluralEyes FCP XML into Edius 7.4.
                  1. PluralEyes 3.5 now handles large video files that are spanned or split (normally 2 to 4gb) correctly e.g. AVCHD, MTS, but PluralEyes's FCP XML only lists the first file and Edius can't find the others. A solution is to prevent PluralEyes 3.5 seeing the other spanned/split files. This can be done by putting the first file of the spanned/split files into a folder before importing into PluralEyes. If you are using PluralEyes 3.3 you won't have this problem because it doesn't handle spanned/split files correctly.
                  2. You won't be able to mix frame-rates and Frame sizes on the PluralEyes timeline.
                  3. The Edius project must have the same settings as the frame-rate and Frame size as the video clips you imported in Plural Eyes.
                  4. The stereo audio is separate to left and right mono tracks.

I imported .mts .avi .mov .mpg and .mp4 files. PluralEyes 3.5 doesn't always show the video frames but it handles the audio ok and that's all you need. Edius of course imports almost everything but remember the FCP XML limitations.
I also found Edius will import my Davinci Resolve xml files.

                    New Feature

Rather than banging their heads against a wall trying to make Edius work with Plural Eyes. Maybe it would be in Belden's best interest to add this feature built right into Edius, the same way they added "stabaliser"

Wondering if anyone else is finding any success using Edius 7.4 along with PluralEyes 3.5.4? Just upgraded to Windows 8.1 (from Vista) and Edius 7.4 (from 5.5) and starting to learn PE (along with DaVinci Resolve 11.1) for the first time. Really wish I could find a PE tutorial online. #braindrain

Edit - Just found this clip for Adobe CC 2014 http://youtu.be/G13RoZVAtW4

Hi DMS Video. I posted a better workflow for Pluraleyes here: http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/s...16&postcount=1
The workflow uses Edius 7.4 export to AFF and a return import from a AFF file created in Pluraleyes.

Great info about spanned clips and xml limited implementation. Can you believe pe 3.5 can't talk with hqx files? I'm amazed. One of this days we will start to make cut lists on pencil and paper (grass valley branded paper, obviously).
