Mark Brown from Editors Keys stopped by the GV booth and dropped off this prototype backlit editing keyboard for EDIUS. I have it plugged in and using it now. SWEET! The backlight can be turned on or off with the push of a button. Very cool. I think this will be available in 3-4 weeks. First pic is with the backlight, second without it.

That's got to be one of the most useful things I have ever seen. Like many others, I do a lot of editing in the late evening and early hours. For me personally, this is a much more creative time and there is nothing so distracting as to increase the ambient room lighting in order to see the keyboard.

Yes, of course. I agree totally with the practical considerations.

me too - having to light up my keyboard at night is a drag - perfect!!
I hope it's solid and well made, not 30 grams of plastic!

Nice idea,
I will love it if it reflect a full keyboard one time without the need of an "Fn" key! ;)

I could only use it if I could move the colored keys around as I have a custom layout. Is this even possible?Asus Prime X299-A - Intel i9 7900x all cores @4.3GHz 2 cores @4.5GHz - 32GB RAM - NVidia GTX1070 - Edius 9 WG - BM Intensity 4k - Boris RED - Vitascene 2 - Windows 10

They would have to print up a whole new set of caps for the keys specifically for your layout. It may be possible, but I expect they'd charge a lot for doing itDVC Built Clevo P775DM3-G Laptop with UHD screen, 7700K [email protected], Geforce GTX 1060 6GB GPU, 500GB M.2 Primary, 1x 480GB SSD, 1x1TB M.2, 1x 2TB 5400RPM Video drives, external Blu-ray Optical

I know a lot of people like the Editor's Keys keyboards. I just don't like the way they feel. I'm an old guy and I prefer the feel of a mechanical keyboard. If you have to have an Edius specific keyboard, I agree that the Editor's Keys is the best so far.
But, if you don't need the 'cheat' keyboards, take a look at a Deck. I have been using a Deck keyboard for about 6 years. Works the same as it did the day I purchased it. I have a blue backlit version. http://www.deckkeyboards.com/product/deck-legend
They are not cheap, but they are a quality product.Jerry
