  • Vistitle Help Please

    Hi Guys,

Going through Jerry's excellent Vistitle tutorials, but when I import any text files to make a rolling title to save to Edius, I can select the headings and set titles O.K., but as soon as I select the line import into the Edit screen, the list reverses it's order!.

As you can see in the JPG, it is fine in the properties top text window, and in the timeline order, but in the bottom text window and edit screen, the list is reversed!

Anyone know the answer? I've rebooted everything to no avail. and is the same with Jerry's list as well as mine.

    Thanks,

    Vaughan

    Hi Vaughn,
Sorry to hear your having a bit of trouble. This is a screen shot from the tutorial:
    Scroll order.jpg
The items are all in order.

I think what may have happened is you may have changed one of the title text settings.

Open up Vistitle and press CTRL+F. It will bring up this panel:
    Ctrl F order setting.png
Make sure that you have the UP to Down button selected for your order.
Start a new scroll project and give it a try.

If the timeline order is not the way you like it, there is a button at the bottom left of the timeline panel that has an arrow pointing up. This is the timeline order selection. It works independent of the Edit Screen and the Current text in layout panels. You can change your timeline order to either top to bottom or bottom to top.

      Thanks Jerry.

      That fixed it.

It's some of these hidden problems I am having trouble with.

Not being an after effects person, I find it is not intuitive to find your way around.

Many thanks for your tutorials. They help. Maybe one that has all these answers to silly problems would be a godsend!

      Cheers,

      Vaughan

The default setting is top to bottom. You must have accidentally hit the other setting.
Did you watch all of the Desktop Video tutorials before trying the scroll ?

The text panel is discussed as well as the global settings in these tutorials.

The Plugin and 'how to' tutorials operate under the premise that you have watched the Desktop Video tutorials.

In the Menu Bar tutorial, I start at around 16:20 discussing the text editor.
At 19:47 I show the advanced dropdown panel. There you will see the default settings.
I don't say, if you get your text reversed click this, but the panel is opened and shown.

Easiest way around a text issue like this is to use CTRL+F9 to reset your text settings to default.
