  • Edius 7 and Magic Bullet Looks - so what's new here?

My apologies, but I am confused by this. I have Edius V6 and need to use Looks via the Adobe After Effects plugin. This obviously means that I do not have output to my monitor for the Looks effect.

My question is: What is new in Edius 7 in relation to the Looks plugin? It still seems to be used via the After Effects so I guess there is still no output to the monitor. If there was, then that would be reason enough for me to upgrade to Edius 7.

My output to monitor is currently via Edius NX Express hardware.

    Many thanks

Samsung SSD Drives for system and mixture of SSD and 7200 SATA for video storage.

Are you talking about output whlie using the Looks interface or are you talking about output immediately after you have applied the effect?
I don't get a realtime output while within the Looks panel. I do get it as soon as I click finish.

I was talking about while using the Looks interface. I guess it is still the same then as I only see the effect after it is applied. That is what I expected, but was wondering.

It would be so wonderful if the output could be to the external monitor while working in Looks, but I can't really see how GV could achieve that.

      Thanks for the response.

From what I can see using After Effects and Premiere Pro CC and an Intensity Pro with the latest drivers, I don't get a real time preview with that either.
So, this is not an Edius issue. This appears to be how it works. That said, it might work differently on a Decklink card, but I kinda doubt it.
