  • Is there a single list of known NBFx Edius crashers???

    Hi all,

I hope you are well? Just wondering if anyone has a list of KNOWN NBFx Edius crashers please? I have a couple for the list but I have noticed how many are mentioned in random threads but there's not a single, simple point of source for people to find out what works and what causes crashes.... and if a certain bundle of effects is causing issues, which program within the bundle is the cause and can it be deselected or removed until NBFx fixes it (maybe)?

I hope I'm not seeking the holy grail or anything like that?

Some of the crashes I've experienced:

NBfx Video Essentials II - haven't narrowed down the culprit as of yet
NBfx Video Essentials III - again, haven't found the actual culprit
NBfx Light Effects - Glow seems to crash Edius 6.53 & 7.20 during rendering
NBFx Titler Pro 1 & 2 plus effects packages - None work with Edius for me since v6 up to and including v7.2 ....and I've tried VisTitle but its such a huge learning curve!

I'm a cameraman and as much as I love shooting and cutting, I'm not a huge fan of having to dedicate so much time to make simple but nice looking titles for video productions. If only NBFx worked I could save so much time editing and more shooting! I'm not bagging VisTitle, its a great program but nowhere near as easy to learn and use as Titler Pro. Hopefully NBFx will fix their issues with their much rumoured and now confirmed upcoming updates?

I've also had numerous crashes it seems due to having Heroglyph, Mercalli, Vitascene 2 and also iCloud installed....

    Any thoughts anyone

    Cheers,
    Cam

Have you logged into NBFX and downloaded the latest? the latest versions what you have mentioned are working in Edius 7.20 here and including the plugins for titler Pro 2. They have fixed the bug where Edius would keep running after shutting down.

      Hi Steve

      Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. I had a message from NBFx support today saying that their updates are ready.

I'll give them a try (again) but my PC has done nothing but crash since day one and mostly with any third party plugins.... not to mention my previous computer and previous 2 versions of Edius doing the same..... Last crash by Edius happened during files copy and transfer to HDD and has now corrupted a full Sony 32GB SXS Card with a client's wedding on it! Hoping Sony Australia can restore it.....

Have you heard of anyone else having constant Edius crashes be it from plugins or just Edius? My PC has even been crashed with Edius to a refresh reset in windows 8 twice now.

Cheers and I'll let you know what happens.... If it starts again I may have to look for another NLE as this one hasn't really worked from day one and support has been woeful to date.

      Thanks,
      Cam

I just downloaded Video Essentials 3 and the date of the file is 30th September, so not new to me, so I will wait for official words
