Magic Bullet Look and Edius 7

I've searched this and haven't found an answer -- is there a way to run Looks in Edius 7? If not, is there an update planned that will allow Looks to run in Edius?

MB Looks 64 bit works fine but NOT with a progressive project, any use of the AE bridge in Edius 7.2 progressive projects causes a full crash.

Thanks. So, I would have to use interlaced? Also, I can't even seem to install MB Looks into Edius 7 -- I tried the usual route. Can you help me with that? Thanks.

It doesn't go directly into Edius. You have to install it into After Effects. Then you link to the AE plugin folder by way of the After Effects bridge.

Thanks. Can't seem to get it to work, even doing this. I can see the plug-in in Edius, but when I try to apply it, the program just freezes and I have to force quit.

The same problem here!
I am using the most recent update of Edius but when i have a lot of clips with MBL in it then Edius crashes (one or two small clips don t give this problem).
If Edius is being used without the MBL plugg in (so no effects applied on any clips) then still Edius gives a crash report about 15 seconds after i have quit Edius (and saved the project).
This results in every time when i open Edius, Edius starts with the message that "the last time Edius has crashed do you want to open the last saved file").
I say NO and i can open the last opend project without any problems.
Really strange!!!

So i really thought GV would have fixed the problems in this third update of Edius 7 but no ;(

Updated to 7.21 still with issues

We have now updated EDIUS 7 to 7.21.822 and are still getting constant crashes with Magic Bullet.
We are using:

• Magic Bullet Colour Suite
• EDIUS 7.21.822 (updated using the updater .exe/not DL)
• Crashes happen if project is 1080p or 1080i

Is this a common thing still?

I am going to try to uninstall and re-install using the FULL installer package (DL .exe) tonight and see if this has any benefits.

We have now installed latest "EDIUS Software v7.21b1530 Update" and everything seems to be working now.

Still getting Crashes - Edius 7.21b1530

So a new update here:

We have multiple workstations all running the latest build of EDIUS 7 (v7.21b1530) on Window 7 sp1, and we are still getting regular crashes on our projects.

Here are some scenarios and stats

• Editing projects in both 1080i/p - Still getting crashes
• 2 vision layers on top of each other both with looks applied cause the most regular crashes.
• Crashes normally happen when we render with looks applied
• Crashes happen sometimes when vision is extended with looks on timeline
• We are using the magic-bullet looks part of the color-suite as a Adobe AE CC plug-in
• These workstations have at least 12GB of RAM

Is anyone else having these issues and if so are there any work-arounds for this?
I hope some of these details help with future build of Edius 7 as we are having frequent issues with this plug-in stability.

Since your post is asking about stopping the crashes, the only way to stop the crashes is to unlink the plugin in the AE bridge and restart Edius.
At this point, it is an either/or situation. Either use it and tolerate a few crashes, or don't use it and have a stable system.
If you have any New Blue plugins installed those will cause similar issues as well.

I know this isn't what you were wanting to hear. Give it a try and see if it stablizes your system.

In the next update of EDIUS there will be a few fixes which will benefit the use of compatible AE plugs.
