Boris RED 5.4 with Edius 7 support available

Red is not a 3D capable program. It never has been advertised as one. It works in 2D within Edius 7 quite well...much better than in the 32 bit versions.

RED is quite slow because
- only 50% of the cpu-cores are used,
- the utilization of the used cores is a maximum of 50%.
Good: The maximum clock frequency of the cpu is being used.

I bought the latest version RED 5.4.0.378 and use for editing EDIUS 7.
EDIUS 6.5 and 7 also include the processing of 3D-material . And not just in advertising, but really and actually .

Boris FX-supporter say that it support EDIUS 7 with RED 5.4.

I'm very sorry ,but Boris RED 5.4 currently does not support the 3D processing !

But perhaps RED should support the 3D processing.
Select with the right mouse button within the plugin from EDIUS .
Now you have a choice of L-R (both, left and right channel - 3D), L (left channel only ) or R ( right channel only ). The selection of L-R with 3D-material leads to termination. Only if you select only one channel , you can edit the RED clip and comes back to EDIUS .
From RED-supporter was confirmed to me that RED can't process 3D-material .

It would be very nice and appropriate the price of BORIS RED if you could redeem the promise to support EDIUS 7, but please full extent .

I downloaded the 5.3 update version. It is giving conflicting information.
This is the update and it says the same information as the trial.

So, which one is right? The difference in the two is the file size. This may be 5.4 but it is quite confusing.

And if you follow the update link you still see the 5.3 entry like Jerry and me. But it IS the 5.4 update so we're just talking about a typo.

There, choose RED and download the RED 5.3 package. Surprise: you'll get BorisRED54Win_64Bit.exe. BorisFX already informed.

I've already installed RED 5.4 and it works fin on EDIUS 7 so far.

I loaded the trial as well. But it shows it as 5.3 during install.

I don't know where you are getting the 5.4 download. Under the update these are the installer choices:

I also download the trial which says it is 5.4 but during the install at the registration panel the actual version number was
5.3.0.652.
