Aha ! I was not aware that there were "Audio" Keyframes in Producer. I will check further into this. I hope it is that simple :-) Thanks

I have been experimenting with ProShow Producer for a few hours and I have to say it is quite a nice program. Simple to use and with lots of options to get what I am looking for in my slide shows.

It is much better than ProShow Gold I think but of course it should be as it costs much more!

Now I just need to buy some music.

The program serves its purpose though and does a fine job at throwing together a quick photo montage.
You might take a look to see if there are keyframes on the audio track causing the volume to rise.

I wasn't referring to including the project file like you could in Imaginate. Just video files of the show added to the timeline.

Thanks for the comparison of the two offerings.

Sorry if it has been covered before but what are the significant differences between the two that would effect my use in combining on a timeline in Edius?
I do not think you can integrate pro show onto an edius timeline. You can, however, make an mp4 or other file output and use it in edius. I will often do this when I need to work with my audio levels since proshow does not offer a precise method of adjusting and MONITORING audio levels. Proshow producer offers more transitions and effects, and key framing. I take advantage of the effects.

And you often can find Imaginate on auction sites; e.g., EBay.

The German GV distributor and his dealer network still have Imaginate 2 in stock. If you have your serial number they may also be able to replace your disk.

It should be able to, yes. When you create a show you can set the resolution, and you can do that when exporting/rendering your show as well (it doesn't have to be the same as the show resolution).

Having said that, I just encountered a serious problem with ProShow Producer and their tech support has blown me off, the person I spoke to was too dense to understand the issue, closed my support case, and hasn't responded to any subsequent e-mails.

I was trying to export two Producer shows to AVI files using the HQX codec so I can combine them with another video edited in Edius and author a Blu-Ray disk in TMPGEnc Authoring Works.

It turns out ProShow Producer only supports RIFF AVI v1.0 files, so it can't create any files over 2GB -- if you output an uncompressed AVI file, you're limited to 8 seconds of video before the file winds up being un-openable. The support person didn't understand the difference between AVI v1.0 and AVI v2.0 files.

For any show authored entirely in ProShow, it is fine. I just need them to fix their software so it doesn't use an obsolete AVI format.

I never use the effects within Imaginate. All effects are added after I do subclips of each motion still.

Both programs are good, ProShow is heavily automated and it's very fast to produce something striking, imaginate is really hands on and you have to spend more time to make a great show.
End results are very deferent, ProShow (if not manually tweaked) will look like any 'factory' made effects product, often overdone but nice for the young ones, imaginate if very lame when not modified but with some time you can really make the transition effect that enhances the collage without cluttering it.

Both are strong programs with truly amusing effects in ProShow.
    Output quality I prefer imaginate.
In my trails ProShow often suffers from highfrequentie flickering here and there, which takes extra time in photoshop.

I don't shoot any more. I was just curious if the product supported 4K. Stills are in that resolution and doing it native and then bringing it in to Edius will retain the color quality.

    I doubt it.
im amazed at some of my friends that will only shoot with the red camera because of 4K. most theaters are still doing 2K.
average person wont even notice difference watching on their tv or dvd player.id get the FS700 if I had the money.
what camera are you shooting with?
