This has been answered before. The latest version of plural eyes does not plug-in to EDIUS 6.5. No plug-in for 6.5 no plug-in for 7.

Repeat I am talking about the latest version......

Will the older version of plural eyes (the one that works with 6.5) work with Version 7? This is the one thing holding me back from upgrading.

              Thanks.

No it will not work. Here is a reply from Red Giant. If enough people request it they may consider producing it.

"Unfortunately we do not have plans on having an Edius option for PluralEyes 3. I would be happy to write a compatibility request on your behalf for this host application. We do offer PluralEyes 3 as a standalone application, so you can export your synced footage to your desired host applciation. Here is some further information:

Question... Will the xml files exported by Pluraleyes import directly into Edius 7?

                  Thanks

Do not understand why Red Giant is willing to loose alot of customers. It seems to me there is more "Red" than a "Giant" behind this statement of RG.
Why competition? Better option is synergy.

Define 'a lot of customers.' They're not going to loose customers that they never had. It comes down to price to produce vs sales of the item. It comes down to No Bucks, no Buck Rogers.

I think that the best way to convince Red Giant is to have as many people as possible (who want Plural Eyes) request this feature from Red Giant.

I realize that Grass Valley has stated that this is not up to them, I do believe that their voice would also be useful with Red Giant.

When you are just starting out trying to get a company to make a plugin for us, that may be true. However when there has been a plugin for several years (as is the case here), they have sales numbers that guides their decisions.

You can go search here and look for the most talked about plugin that we do not have (probably Smart Sound) and you might see a dozen people demanding it. Assuming this is the most vocal group for EDIUS, you can see that the numbers presented here are such small percentages that it takes a bit of a leap of faith for a third party company to devote the resources and money to develope the plugin.

As Jerry is pointing out, we need people to put their money into buying these plugins for companies to want to do this.

Good point. But, I'm not actually sure that they know what platform someone is using Plural Eyes for. For example, I bought PE when I was using Premiere. I now use it extensively with Edius 6, but there is no way for Red Giant to know that unless I tell them separately (which I just did!)

As someone who studies this kind of things for a living, this does not seem to me to be the best metric to look at vis a vis Plural Eyes. People aren't talking about not having PEs (until now) because they already have it (for versions of Edius before 7). People are, indeed, now talking about it. Also, what people post on a forum, as you know, is not necessarily representative of the user base. And, for everyone who posts, there could be many more who view the post and agree, but just don't post anything

As Jerry is pointing out, we need people to put their money into buying these plugins for companies to want to do this.
But, why would anyone buy Plural Eyes if they are now using Edius 7, since it doesn't work with it!

In fact, there are likely people who won't buy Edius 7 because of the lack of PE support (me being one, for now at least).

Anyway, not trying to start an argument, just pointing out a few things that I think others should consider in their decision making about letting Red Giant know of their interest.

I also, to be honest, don't understand why Grass Valley wouldn't lobby Red Giant for all of the reasons mentioned above (including possible lost sales of Edius 7)

Is there a way to take a poll to try to get at least an estimate of how many Edius users also use PEs?

                              Thanks.
