thanks Ulf, I missed Anton's post, (probably half asleep from spending too long trying to solve another problem- usually he is essential reading for me!)
Thanks for the input, I will check it out.
Cheers!

Hi Rod
I would for sure make an image of your system/application drive before, just to be sure.
I think you should uninstall, and the remove the folder "vistitle" under the Edius programs folde, which Anton pointed out in an earlier post in this thread, and the n I would reboot and install the new one (with dongle inserted).
I am 99% sure that 2.5.0 would be compatible with titles created in 2.3.5.
If you make an image just before upgrading, then you can always roll back.

Hi all, been having fun here on the forum with a V2.35 problem (all solved now- thanks vxchen) . I have Edius 6.08 on win 7. If I upgrade to V2.5 is it backward compatible with titles created in V2.35?
On switching over is it a straightforward uninstall of v2.35 and then install V2.5 or are there any quirky files to delete that the uninstall might leave? (I have a rock solid system and would hate to offend it in any way!)
Cheers!
Rod

I just tried the new installer for 2.5.0 on Edius 6.54, and all is ok now here.
Thanks for quick action, mr. Chen :)

Sorry, Installer for EDIUS 32bit has problems.
We check again for EDIUS 32bit, and found the installer has some issues for EDIUS 32bit, so, please wait for few days, we will rebuild installer and upload it asap.
The downloading link will be removed temporary.
We are so sorry for this issues.

Until then I will suffice with quicktitler. For me anyway Vistitle 2.5 and Edius 6.54 do not play well together.

Thanks Anton. Seeing Ulf was having problems i thought it might have been for Edius 7 only

it automatically installs the correct version depending on your EDIUS
that is why it is now 1GB in size

May be a silly question
Is Vistitle 2.5 (64bit) meant to work on Edius 6.54 (32bit). Plugin developers usually have seperate installers for different bit versions of NLE eg Newblu, Boris, Prodad

Is this normaL?
I've also noticed that when I close Edius, it still appears in Task Manager/ Processes as still running. I have to manually end the process if I want to open Edius again.
I have tried to install it two times, with uninstall and CCleaner in between, and it is not running good. Edius stops half way through the progress indicator for startup for 20-30 sec. and then the "edius watchdog" screen asking if I want to exit or make a report. Edius starts up in the background though, but Vistitle is very slow.
The standalone application works fine.
I downgraded to 2.35 and all is fine.
I installed 2.5.0 on Edius 7 (on another box though) without any hickups.
Have not tried to investigate further now, because I will upgrade to 7 "for real" as soon as I get my disc.

Just installed Vistitle v2.5.0.0 without a hitch. All seems OK as a plug-in and stand alone. Looking forward to using it now.

I just wanted to point to some free tutorials on Vistitle on Youtube, made by David in the UK:
David Clarke runs training course on Adobe Premiere Pro, Grass Valley EDIUS, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. On this channel you will see various training videos on these an other effects programs.
I think they are great, and there is some other great stuff there too, imo :)

that is not normal
uninstall it again and manually delete the Vistitle folder on the C drive, then also make sure all vistitle plugins are gone from the EDIUS plugins folder
look for VEDIUSImporter
