Good to see they are using a faster server based in Germany. It only took 4 minutes to download nearly 1Gb.

Does anyone know if you need to uninstall 2.3.5 first, or does this 2.5 overwrite earlier versions?

This is a completely different installer. Directx installation is different as well.
A lot more streamlined and sutomated.

Well it didn't work for me. I went ahead and followed the instructions to install Vistitle 2.5. I am still using Edius 6.08.

I now have 2 versions of Vistitle installed 2.3.5 and 2.5, both accessed as standalone, but nothing showing up in Edius. What now?

you have to de-install previous versions first
in this case you should now de-install both versions and do a new installation

Pity I didn't know that earlier. I have now uninstalled Vistitle 2.5, but when I uninstalled 2.3.5, it says that some elements were not removed and that I should do that manually.

What elements do I look for?

From the Vis site they semed to suggest an uninstall of a previous version first. Result Vistitle 2.5 installed but froze the whole computer when trying to usen in the latest flavour of Edius 6.54. I intend to upgrade to Edius 7 when Dave of DVC gets them in. Until then I will suffice with quicktitler. For me anyway Vistitle 2.5 and Edius 6.54 do not play well together.

If you are running AV software make sure to exclude Vistitle 2.5 and related elements. Turn off AV for installation.

I have now installed Vistitle 2.5.

Edius 6.08 opens much slower than before and opening Vistitle is also slower.

                      Is this normaL?

I've also noticed that when I close Edius, it still appears in Task Manager/ Processes as still running. I have to manually end the process if I want to open Edius again.

                        that is not normal

uninstall it again and manually delete the Vistitle folder on the C drive, then also make sure all vistitle plugins are gone from the EDIUS plugins folder

                        look for VEDIUSImporter

I just wanted to point to some free tutorials on Vistitle on Youtube, made by David in the UK:

David Clarke runs training course on Adobe Premiere Pro, Grass Valley EDIUS, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. On this channel you will see various training videos on these an other effects programs.

I think they are great, and there is some other great stuff there too, imo :)

I have trouble using 2.5.0 in Edius 6.54

I have tried to install it two times, with uninstall and CCleaner in between, and it is not running good. Edius stops half way through the progress indicator for startup for 20-30 sec. and then the "edius watchdog" screen asking if I want to exit or make a report. Edius starts up in the background though, but Vistitle is very slow.

                              The standalone application works fine.

I downgraded to 2.35 and all is fine.

I installed 2.5.0 on Edius 7 (on another box though) without any hickups.

Have not tried to investigate further now, because I will upgrade to 7 "for real" as soon as I get my disc.
