Sorry, I'm just stupid I suppose.
I certainly did watch the video - and more than once. I assumed, incorrectly as it turns out, that having the loop option selected and hitting the play button was the equivalent of the keyboard shortcut which I tend not to use as I'm faster with a tablet than the keyboard.
