Putting a Fade on to a Vistitle Effect?

I am trying to put a fade out on to a 3D effect
I have a Caption made it Vistitle 10 seconds long.
After 3 seconds the "Shine" effect goes through the caption for 3 seconds leaving the caption on, but the "Shine" effect cuts off.
Is there a way of mixing off (Fade) the effect?

Look at the screenshot:

Adjust your boost keyframes to where you need them and then change the value to '0' and the shine will fade out between the two keyframes.

Do you know how to do the same with "Stripe"?
It has no "Boost"
