Now that Edius supports the Black Magic card is there a need to have both cards in your system?

Sure, because Edius 6.06 can't use the BMD Intensity video outputs. Just capture at the moment. Will it change? No one knows...

I have two machines. One has a Spark and Intensity pro and
the second machine has a Storm 3g and an Intensity shuttle.
The Intensity's do the capture work and output for Photoshop,
      Premiete and AE.
I can capture with the Intensity's and continue to
edit in Edous at the same time. I have a 5x1 hdmi switcher and
can view each of the 4 cards at work.

With the new version of Edius does it output through the BM card or just capture?

          Define "NEW" - 6.06 or 6.5?
          6.06 - no output.
6.5 - not addressed in the released information, therefore do not count on it.
