  • Problems installing VisTitle on Win7 64Bit

    Hi,
I could install Edius6 software without any problem, including the software on the bonus disc, but except VisTitle. I always get a message like the path could not be accessed, or that I maybe have no access rights. But I have administrative rights and I even execute the installer (VisTitleSetup1.8_ENG_Full.exe) specially as administrator.

    It's a Win7 Professional 64Bit machine.

Does anybody had the same problems?

    Cheers and thanks,
    SkyWalker

PS: I forgot to mention that the system runs in German language, and that all drives are fast SSD drives, and not "normal" harddisk drives.

Can you give more specifics on the error message and the system configuration?

I installed Vistitle yesterday (an early version followed by update to 1.8) on a Win7/64-bit machine yesterday with no problem.

No problems here on Win 7 Ultimate. SSD drives also. Maybe the German Language problem?

Here you can see the error message, but it's in German :)
        vistitle_install_error.png

It says that what I already explained: "No access to the selected device, path or file. Maybe you have not enough rights to access this element."

        So, hmmm...
Could it be something with Antivirus software that blocks some access?
I have Kaspersky2012 and IObit Advances System Care 5 running.

        Best regards,

          Hahaaaa, bingo!

It was the Antivirus software. I guess Kaspersky2012...
          This was the trouble maker.

          Best regards,

I also run Kaspersky, and as you mentioned, I have to disable it to install Vistitle the re-enable it and all is well. Most software when being installed, suggests that you turn off any anti-virus software.

Kaspersky stopped DVCapture from working on a friends PC.
It only work when Kaspersky was uninstalled.

AV programs can block (or at least prompt on) writes to the registry and the installation of software files.
