  • Update to latest version of Mercalli 2?

    Hello,

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Mercalli 2: Plugin 2.0.96 (11-Jan-2012).

Installation went ok, but now there is a purple "X" in the video when the plugin is used. I assume this means the plugin is running in demo mode? I cannot however find any "Registration" button. This is supposed to be there according to the documentation? I have the serial number that came with the original version of Mercalli2 on DVD.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Did you install the right version?
You need "Mercalli 2 for EDIUS"

      Hi,

Thanks. Yes, that is the installation package I used. Is it supposed to work, without re-entering the registration code?

Update: I now tried to uninstall Mercalli2, and re-install it. Did not help. Still the purple "X". Where and when exactly is the registration code supposed to be entered? Maybe it was the installation program that installed both Mercalli2 and Vitaschene originally that requested the code, don't remember?

Hi, there is no need for registration on "Mercalli 2 for EDIUS"
Try to de-install again, delete the Mecalli.tpi on EDIUS PlugIn folder
and finally make and make a registry scann for mercalli.
Now you can re-install MC for EDIUS again

          Hi,

Mecalli.tpi and the registry were apparently cleaned properly by the uninstaller, because no mercalli could be found. Luckily I was able to install the old version (2.0.69) from the original DVD properly!

The installation program do mention to check prodad.com for updates though.

Not sure what the problem is, but I am happy for now that I got the old version to work at least... ;)

Let's keep the investigation and findings going on this, guys. The more info we can give Eric, the better chances of him solving the issue - and we ALL use Mercalli!
            Thanks,

                Hi,

So, is it supposed to be possible to update to latest version of the plugin? Has anyone else succeeded?

It is correct that there is no separate registration code for Mercalli (I only had the EDIUS code). What is then the purpose of the purple "X"?

                  yes, the given link

is tested and works correct on my system and you don't need any registration or key code.

                    Hi,

Yes, I did uninstall (twice), looked for Mecalli.tpi and searched the registry. Sorry, maybe I didn't explain that clearly enough above.
