Just wanted to check this functionality out. I have added the folder but don't see a place in the Effects window for AE plugins. Where are they listed?

Thanks,

Did you add them via the AE bridge?
Also it would be good to check the compatibility list.
Output plugins work only with 32bit AE- no support for CS5.
Ahh, ok, I did link to my AE CS5.5, but I also have AE CS4 installed as well, so I'll try linking to that directory instead and see what happens. THANKS!!

Yes, but it was what Andrzej said ... I was linking to my 5.5 install. Interestingly enough, though, after linking my AE CS4 directory, Edius would not load (was crashing.) Looking at the error results Win7 provided I was able to determine it was the Color Finesse plug-in causing the problem. (It did not list it as incompatible.) I had to move the entire Synthetic Aperture directory out of the Plug-Ins folder for it to stop the crash on load. No big deal since I probably won't be using AECS4 too often, if ever.
So the moral of the story?
Better use the compatibility list. :)
I think you misunderstood ... Actually, that was not the original problem at all. As far as the crash goes, the compatibility list was of no help there either as it did not list any plug-ins as incompatible. I had to research the error being produced to find out. :(
I would think more people would run into this as Color Finesse is a "built-in" plug-in with an clean AE install.

Logic would have it that if it is not on the list it is most likely not compatible. (try at your own risk)
We have listed AE plugs which we have tested.
Sapphire, Magic bullet Looks are among them.
I don't think compatibility lists are made to list unsupported plug-ins. I can't remember seeing one...
