For SD DVD then I think DVDLAB is the best. Just doesn't do Bluray.

DVD LAB PRO for authoring

I'm searching for a good authoring program that will easily import Edius Chapter markers without fuss.
How does DVD lab pro compare to the bigger players like Architect?

Scenarist BD is simply unpayable for small authoring facilities, Encore is not able to create a CMF/BDCMF for replication plant.
On Mac is a path with Encore & BluStreak to create CMF images with Blustreak.
But I think, being independend from Apple has its own advantages & DoStudio has some more advanced features for BD creation.
The 'Indie' version gives me a good value for its price. ;)
By the way, it imports chapter lists created with the marker exporter in the same way as DVDlab does it. :D
cheers

I am using DVD Archtect 5 as authoring program for DVD and Blu-ray, and after exporting the markers from the Edius timeline with the Marker Exporter from Mats, I copy and paste each marker timecode into the timecode window of the DVD Archtect timeline.
I agree that the standard Excel files exported from Edius contain too many dots and comma's, so the copying and pasting becomes cumbersome.
Of course the easiest is the way you can import the markers into DVDLab Pro.

Is there a way that I can export the project From Edius that will allow Encore to read my chapter marks? I currently export a marker list from my edius project and manually redo all my chapters in Encore, and it's a pain!
If it's not possible with Encore, is there a program with a similar level of menuing capabillities that works more seemlessly with EDIUS?

I don't work with Premiere or Encore! I just thought that if someone ask for marker import, there would probably exist
a way for import & it would be just a question of which file format is used by Encore, not possibility!

format waste. The marker plugin exports just the timecodes or frame counts, each per line in a *.txt file which could be
really useful for usage in DVDlab & some other applications.

That's pretty much what I do now. Edius Marker list on one monitor, Encore in on the other monitor. Then I manually enter the timecodes and set my chapter marks in Encore.
This process works well but I probably average about 60 chapters per project and it gets tedious to say the least.
I guess I was just hoping that there may have been an easier way to do this since I've been stuck in menu hell all week.

What I do is have both app open position it so that Encore is on one monitor and Edius preview window is on the other monitor, and advance to each chapter in edius and copy the timecode in current preview window of Edius and then paste it in Encore timecode window, for me it is much faster than scrubbing the timeline in Encore to mark chapter especially if it is a blu-ray project since Encore Blu-ray project it is very sluggish on my system.

The PlugIn from Mats is for EDIUS Export only. It definitely doesn't help to import marker into Encore.
Encore has no Marker-Import except via "Dynamic Link" from Premiere.
Adobe is not interested to support other NLEs
I'm also looking for a solution since Encore CS2. No much hope .....

I don't know how chapter lists for Encore needs to be formatted!
Maybe this little export plugin can help you?

You cannot do anything more with Encore and I don't believe you can with DVD Architect either. I have seen people request with Adobe that they add a feature where you can import chapters from a CSV file which would be great, but it does not do it now.
