  • Downscaling Vistitle rolls/scrolls with TMPGenc5

When I downscale an HD show with TMPG5 with Vistitle rolls and crawls in it, I get a stairstepping motion-not smooth. I am downscaling only the video and adding the crawls and rolls on an SD timeline. Is there a better workflow out there?

I guess what I'm seeing is just the difference between HS and SD on the roll. The SD version rolls smooth, but it's like you can see lines flickering thru it. The HD is beautiful. It may be my monitor. I just downconverted again and it still looks slightly better applying the roll on a SD timeline and exporting verses having the roll on an HD timeline and downconverting the whole thing.

I know the rolls that I have done with Vistitle are clean. My SD file comes from an HD master that has been washed through Virtual Dub and then encoded out to mpeg2 mastering settings in Procoder 3.
