    Hi Shueardm & Brandon,

Thank you very much for your help. Finally, I fixed the problem accidentally. I never know that there are two different activating numbers for DVDit Pro HD. One is a CD key #, which is located inside the CD box. I can use it to activate DVDit Pro HD at windows XP computer only. Another one is a SN, which is at my register page on Roxio web site. I can use it at windows 7 computer. Both are 17 digit numbers.

Windows 7 (Pro or better)'s XP Mode may work too.

It's easier to set up and a bit less jarring of a user experience than using a VM, but VMware or VirtualBox may also fit the bill... but you'll need an OS license and media to install in those (though I'm sure you can probably find some pre-built ready-to-activate images).

You need a point upgrade that they refuse to release anymore. They were terrible company for support.

The only way you can use now on Windows 7 is in a virtual machine. Try VMWare it's free or Windows 8 has it also free if you have a supported CPU.

    invalid product key

DVDIt 6.4 Pro HD worked great on my windows xp computer. Recently, after replacing the windows xp C drive (system drive) with a windows 7 C drive, I've reinstalled Roxio DVDIt 6.4 Pro HD from its original CD, which I bought 4 years ago, to this windows 7 computer. The installation was good, however; during the activation of DVDIt 6.4, it showed an error message, “Unsuccessful Activation. There was a problem activating your product. This could be due to: Invalid product key". Is this the compatibility problem between windows 7 and DVDIt 6.4?

I have contacted the Roxio Support Team. Unfortunately, they don’t support this product anymore.

Please help if anyone have tips or experience. Thank you very much in advance.

    Hey Mark, sorry for misunderstanding!
I was to fast in reading your post where you complained the abscense of DVDit Pro HD on Roxios site.
You have written it clearly but I didn't read it! Damn... I lost my attention... ;)

    Hehe Jerry,
I think that DoStudio is already available for a decent price! ;)

To be serious, if replication is not needed EasyBD is a very good choice for an attractive price!
The guys from DVDLogic has developed great reauthoring tools.

Two cheers for Scott. I don't know what his actual job title was but he answered tons of question for new users on the forum as well as at product support. That was quite a few years back though....at least for me. How long ago did he get moved?

Mark, I hope that info on Do Studio being incorporated into DVD Architect is spot on. If it comes out at a decent price, sorry Andreas, I'm on board.

As mentioned in PM Andreas, I already have it so no need to buy it. :)

One thing's for sure, the guy who worked for SONIC that cared about support when it wasn't even his job (Scott Epstien) got retrenched and then nobody gave two hoots, downhill from there.

It was hinted by SONY reps that there would be things slated for DoStudio technologies and DVD Artchitect PRO, so it may appear at NAB, let's hope.

I wonder how much hair Scenarist guys have lost over their latest acquisition by Rovi.
I found a bug in BD Powerstation very early on. It still has not been fixed. When encoding with Cinevision Mpeg for DVD, the video would not be approved in DVDit POR HD, even though it was legitimate and worked in Scenarist, Encore etc. They said they would fix but they didn't, it still a bug today and they sell this still.... when you can't even make a DVD with the tools provided..

    Jerry, you are right,
before buying BD Powerstation I also recommend Netblenders DoStudio!
Pricing of Indie version is very similar to Sonic BD powerstation.

For smaller budgets DVDit PRO HD is/was the cheapest solution on market which could create an BDCMF master with AACS insertion for replication plant.
But also true is DVDit PRO is a very touchy tool!

Why bother with it. I have it and I haven't used it in probably 5 years. Tooooooo
many issues to go into. I know Mark was able to get it to work for him in the Power Station setup. But, as a standalone, there are better and easier authoring packages to use. As far as I know, there hasn't been any fixes since 6.4 was released. That release was not a well known release at the time. I had to get a link from Mark so that I could upgrade to 6.4 from 6.3. That was way back when it was the only game in town. I just felt that Sonic, then Roxio now Rovi has a red-headed step child.

As far as the motion loop point, I have never had an issue with that. The instructions are not straight forward enough, but it will do it.

I am hoping that the acquistion of DO Studio by Sony will give us a new BD authoring solution that is geared for the pro-am crowd.
Andreas has this program already and I know the acquistion had to send chills up his spine. It is not a cheap program, but it is a viable alternative to Scenarist.
OH for the days of DVD Maestro.

DVDit Pro HD is part of the BD PowerStation.
Maybe philosophy has changed & it's now an only part for PRO section?

Contact your nearest Sonic (ROVI now) dealer!
Eureka Pacific - High performance digital storage, connectivity and cyber security for financial applications, defence, healthcare, content and media production, video, film and post production. We are based in Sydney Australia and serve South East Asia and the Pacific.

Maybe they can help you to get a single license for DVDit Pro HD!

It's still listed on a german reseller picelist:

    Good luck

So DVDit PRO HD is not listed on Roxio.com anymore.

A good buy at the time that was something to build on, ruined by Roxio's pathetic customer focus.
I have SONIC BD Powerstation, which includes essentially DVDit PRO HD but that is now owned by Rovi, who don't look like they have a clue either.

As I mentioned in my earlier post. For Bluray there are no pop menus and it has a problem for SD in that although one can set a command for Top Menu this doesn't work when one presses the Top Menu button on a player remote but takes one to the last menu. Not much of a problem really as the menus have a top menu button on them that does work correctly. This is the only navigation issue I have found for the Blurays and SD DVD's I have done with the program. DVDLab is better for SD DVD but now that i do Bluray and SD DVD seems pointless to usse two programs when one is sufficient.

As mentioned one cannot import chapter marks other than from Vegas which has a preset encode for DVD Architect and will carry over the chapter marks set on the Vegas timeline. I now prefer to set chapter marks in DVDA. DVDA 5.2 only comes with Vegas. The simpler DVDA is available but I am not sure now what it is missing. I think it is much like the authoring in Vegas Studio products.
