Dvd it Pro HD 6.4

Is anyone here stillusing DVD it Pro HD 6.4 for bluray and dvds? (not 6.3) I liked it because it can do bluray and dvd in one project. Can any other authoring program do this?

I use DVDit! HD Pro when I want a Blu-ray and a DVD. This software produce the same menu structure for Blu-ray and DVD. Generally I use TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 to obtain a Blu-ray. This software do a more complete menu structure for Blu-ray with pop-up menus and so.Also it has inside tools to produce your own buttons and different personalised items. For me the advantage of DVDit! HD Pro is the possibility to obtain Blu-ray and DVD with the same project because he only use the typical DVD menu structure in both formats.TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 runs very well and has a very good price....

Thanks for the response! I was going to transfer DVDit HD 6.4 to a new computer, but discovered that my backup dvd of the program is scratched or corrupted. I contacted Roxio, but although I gave them my serial # and invoice, they told me that I had only 30 days from date of purchase to download....after that, I would need to purchase the program again! There are a lot of very unhappy people on their forum.

Is there any way I can copy or transfer the working program from an existing computer to another without an installer???

Or does anyone have a backup of 6.4 on hand that I could "borrow" to re-install???

What about the quality of the DVD from a BR on DVDit pro ? (same project)
Is it the same picture quality as the Anton's method ?

DVDit Pro HD 6.4 produces an illegal BD structure when compiling and burning

it is best to look for alternative software

I still use it for BD-R only and manually fix the BD structure with lots of copy/paste after compile, then I burn it with Nero 10 Burning Rom and choosing Blu-ray Video template

I could not be bothered doing a tutorial on manually fixing the structure when the product is dead

I am not a DVDIT Pro user, but I suspect it would be difficult at best if the installer modifies the Registry, which it probably does. it may also depend on what, if any, registration/authentication is part of the install process.

If Roxio is no help, your best bet might be to check eBay and other auction sites, computer flea markets/shows, etc. for a copy.

From the DVD side of the app I can report it's pretty good at what is does, flexible menu en scripting options, not too user friendly and particular regarding correct encoded source material, but I assume any good authoring app will reject non confirming encodes.

As I only make DVD's I personally can't vouch for the compatibility but there are a few Sony users on the forum who might chime in.

the problem is that roxio support is all but dead and the product is dead

they really need to let you download it again under normal circumstances, they can't make you buy it again

Yes DVD Architect will make DVD and Bluray with same project by just changing the media files and project settings. Menu structure of course has to be within the specs for not too many buttons on a page for DVD. I make most Bluray with DVD Architect by exporting HQ file from Edius, import into Vegas set markers and name then get Vegas to encode for Bluray . File used in DVD Architect will use markers and names to set chapter marks/buttons automatically. I prefer T4 for SD DVD encode and DVDlab for authoring but just changing files in DVDArchitect works.

It does?? I've been doing BD this way for almost 2 years now. Good grief. Fortunately nobody has complained of not being able to play their disc.

I suspect the real issue is that the non-conforming portions of the structure that it creats may not work on some machines with the risk becoming greater as time passes and machine evolve.

compile a test project to BD image and then check it with windows explorer

you will see that it placed a stray backup file in the Certificate folder, while the real backup folders are empty (the Certificate folder is meant to be empty)

many files are missing in backup folders, so if the disk gets a scratch in a location, it won't play anymore, normally it would because the files responsible for loading are also in the backup folder and it is located in a different location on the disk

and there are another 6 conflicts, they can all be fixed

to save me time writing a tutorial on a dead product, do the following:

1. create a Blu-ray disk image with the Edius disk burner direct from timeline, the Edius BD image structure is correct, now inspect all folders and compare to the one created by DVDit, then fix accordingly with copy paste and delete

after a while, you will be able to do it in your sleep

anton did you have problems reading BR with wrong folders?

because iibw had no problem since 2009 .

I am starting with BR

I use to make DVD's with Workshop 2

it's easy and powerful,I was looking for same thing in BR and

I thought using DVD it pro .

Is it a good choice (is it really dead? - worshop is also dead but it's still working very well)
If it's not a good choice what soft is powerfull and easy to use?
