  • VisTitle feature request: subtitles to AVI with alpha

    Hello VXChen,

since AVI export with alpha channel is not possible from EDIUS it would be a big plus when imported subtitle scripts could be exported from VisTitle timeline directly.

    Background:
I would like to be able to export an AVI clip with full rendered subtitles only for the usage in some other NLEs for overlaying.

Maybe a subtitle only mode for the VisTitle standalone version could be a goal when external clips could be imported to spot the titles!

    ;)

    Yes, your advice is GOOD.

BTW, the VisTitle 1.6 (in developing version, not released) will support QuickTime movie export (which has alpha supported) for exchange the titles created by VisTitle with other NLEs (such as Premiere, FCP, etc..).

VisTitle Subtitle editor in EDIUS will support it too.

        Jack,
Is there the possiblity of having a choice of codecs with the output? HQ does support alpha and I have created title movies from Vistitle that have the alpha information included.

QT export support will be fantastic!! Presumably animation codec with alpha?
          Alan.

More or less retired now. Still on the Essex(UK) coast. Edius 8.2wg all sorts of other, more or less redundant kit - production & Post.

Animation codec is limited to 8bit only. Not my favorite!
Maybe the interface will give you the option to export to any QT codec similar as EDIUS does.
