  • ProDAD Vitascene and edius 5.5 - crash

Anyone noticing the proDAD vitascene locks up edius when using AVCHD footage with edius 5.5?

Is this just an AVCHD thing or is it busted in general with the 5.5 update?

I have had the same problem... I am quite sure my crashes were related to some AVCHD clips on the timeline. They were mixed with mostly Canopus HQ. I converted the AVCHD clips over to HQ and put those on the timeline... No more crashes...

I am using the latest service pack with Win7 64. It seems to be working , but doesn't play well with the AVCHD files mixed in...

So is this latest service pack updated for Win7? It seems to say so in the version history that you posted..

I tried using a Vitascene glow transition today, and as soon as I opened the Vitascene dialogue box... Edius crashes.. Tried it a couple of times and it is repeatable... Win7 64

Forgot to turn "subscriptions" on in my profile settings, so sorry for the delay at getting back to you all.

Win7 x64. It worked fine with edius 5.12 but not with 5.5 (at least with avchd - I haven't tried it with other HD footage and 5.5 yet).

This is an issue caused by Vitascene and Ati/Nvidia Video drivers within
                        Edius Timeline.

There are no fixes yet. :(

Sorry to come in late on this but just noticing Vitascene transitions (actually glitter horizontal wipe is all I use) are behaving badly. I'm using AVCHD so it's probably the same issue as above. It's erratic, sometimes OK sometimes transition breaks up even if rendered, sometimes OK then discover .m2v DVD version is broken up - having wasted an hour or two making the file!

So is there any news of a fix yet?

yes, their support told me to do that, but I don't want to do that because it makes Photoshop CS5 act strange with its interface
