  • What do you use for recording, mixing and editing audio

What do you use for recording, mixing and editing audio outside Edius? I'm searching a stable program for scoring audio on my projects. Besides 5.1 surround mixing and encoding and video preview without problems, I also like to use MIDI. I'm sure programs like Nuendo and Pro Tools can do the job, but those are ways above my budget.

I'm using a PC, so MAC programs won't work. My audio interface is a Focusrite Saffire LE.

If you compare it to the Switzerland´s chocolate and get positive output, then it must be grate.

Any idea what the Pyramix program costs?

I suppose I'd have enough with the native version, in relation with my Focusrite Saffire LE audio interface.

In radio and TV in this building we use adobe Audition.
I am not sure how it will handle 5.1 as I do not do that.
But in other areas it is a very good program.

A typical Audition file (editted project and rendered ) is 6-10db to hot in Edius.
The same file will play fine in radio. But must be reduced in timeline rather a pain.
