The link refers to converting from Procoder Express as shipped with Edius 5....THERE IS NO PCE with E5.
If this is a spoof its good, very good but if it's for real........?????

      Hi DigitalDave,

thanks for the info. As I typed the tutorial I had Edius 4 installed.
Later on I got the Edius 5 Trail version for testing and didn't notice that there is no ProCoderExpress.

The converter is no spoof - it is real. Just the tutorial is from Edius 4.

ps: sorry for the screenshots in german language.

No worries with the German Language - my wife is fluent in German.
E5 being coded for Vista meant that PCE and Xplode had to be replaced.
I would think this will mean a rework for you with E5 which now has its own exporter.

          Hi David,

I need to rewrite the part of the tutorial "converting the footage". What is the new way of a batch conversion in E5 (I guess there are no watch folders anymore)?

The point is, it doesn't matter which tool to use for the conversion step. I just wanted to point out ONE possible way to do this. There are many other ways/tools - as long as the footage is converted to a mac known format, everything is fine.

I will certain give this a try. I have been trying to move some projects recent just to see how good FCP is.
I have not been using procoder to convert the footage though. All my footage is DV AVI so I have simply plugged my hard drive into the mac and loaded them all into FCP and then converted there. It wont load canopus DV clips but if captured in MS DV its ok.

This is a very good hint - thank you. I always used Canopus DV, never tried MS DV.

Batch Export is the same as 4.6 - its the rest of the exporter that has changed.
The inability to handle the Canopus Codec is going to be a big minus as most Edius users would be woring Canopus DV or Canopus HQ.

                  I just released Version 0.6:

                  - Added missing dll to download package (now working!)
                  - new Userinterface
                  - Log Window at the end of conversion
                  - English language support

I converter my Canopus DV files to MSDV reasonably easily using the canopus DV file converter. Not sure if it still on the support site but I have had it for years every since the raptor.

Does the converter still work with the newest Canopus DV format? I had some problems in erlier times, but can't remember what it was. Things like Ref-Avi or similar.
