hello, whawww ! 4000$ ! it's expensive ! 4000$ for only 80 key and a "pro" look ...

a contour shuttle pro (15 key) and a simple "game"keyboard (like the g15logitek, 18 key x3) is just under 150€ , and the ergonomie is very nice

The Shuttle Pro or Shuttle Express work fine with Edius and just about every other software out there. They basically just map keyboards functions to the shuttle. I have a Shuttle Express personally, although I hardly use it any more.

There are presets for the different NLE's and you can also customize them yourself by changing the mapped keyboard functions

I use the Shuttle Pro V2 and have it custom mapped to EDIUS 8.53, Vegas 16 and Resolve Studio 16. That way all the NLE's I use work the same way for me when I edit. Been using it this way for years and would not know what to do without it. Use it with my left hand and have a Logitech Rollerball for my right hand.

Dont you just love it when some one DOES use search and resurrects an 11 year old thread.
I use a Shuttle on my Portaprompt teleprompter, but never found any benefit with Edius over and above a conventional Keyboard and mouse.

Yep, ancient thread resurrection always amazes me too.

When I used to build and sell NLE's for a living, I would often recommend a shuttle pro or express to my clients that were coming from tape based linear editing, as it was "comfort level" thing for them to have the same kind of shuttle control.

People who didn't come from linear editing wouldn't usually want or benefit from a shuttle.

The only reason I even have one is because I wanted one to test with different softwares for my clients and help troubleshoot their problems. This one that sits on my desk has been there for over 15 years, and probably has 15 minutes of use on it.

Even my clients for the most part have stopped using the jog shuttles as they got more used to non-linear editing.

Yes the comfort of holding a knob! I came from the PVE 500. They had proper knobs.

Actually I rarely use the jog or shuttle control and mainly use it as 15 custom buttons. Do use to move a frame at a time occasionally.

I actually still have my Canopus JD-1 JogDisk shuttle controller.

It was a handy little device however driver development stopped for some reason. Id still use it if possible.
