  • Configuring preview frame rate on DeckLink card

    Hi,

I have a DeckLink MiniMonitor card I use for preview while editing.

I was using Edius 8 until now with which the card was producing video output at [email protected] After upgrading recently to Edius X, the output is suddenly [email protected]

Is there a way to configure this and revert back to [email protected]?

    Thanks

the decklink card outputs the frame rate set in EDIUS project settings when EDIUS is open

when EDIUS is closed, you can set the frame rate in decklink cpanel

The project frame rate is actually 25fps, but the card still outputs 50fps, also the little icon in the Edius taskbar shows 50fps on the preview. I could not find any place in the project settings to change this.

once a project is started as 50p, you can't change to 25p

you can only change from 25p to 50i

        see attached

btw, I never heard of a frame rate display on the taskbar, could you provide a screenshot

I've attached a couple of screenshot of the "frame rate info".

I have also tried a few combinations and it seems the preview frame rate somehow depends on the project frame rate, but I do not understand how exactly.

          I've observed the following:
          • Project frame rate: 25 - preview 50i
          • Project frame rate: 23.98 - preview 59.94i
          • Project frame rate: 24 - Edius crashing :)
          • Project frame rate: 30 - preview 30p

I can't reproduce it, see attached video

What does your TV info say about frame rate when you press the info button on the TV remote?

I'm actually feeding the output into an encoding device which shows the same input fps as the ones on my screenshot.

Also, the BlackMagic Desktop Video Utility shows the same fps values.

When trying another SW, e.g. Adobe Premiere, the preview card outputs 25fps as expected, so I believe it must be something with EDIUS.
