Edius 8.53 and pc problem

Hi.
My current workstation:
i7 6700k
z170
16GB Ram
SSD on Windows
HDD on Video
gtx 1060
Edius 8.53

I have a problem. My computer and Edius do not play files from a7s3 4k50 10bit 422 smoothly.

What components should I buy to be able to work smoothly on these files?

In Edius 8.53 I use the filmconvert add-on that I care about. There is no filmconvert in edius X anymore.

Is it possible to assemble a computer for edius 8.53 and so that the a7s3 files work? Do I have to forget about filmconvert and set up a computer for Edius X?

what is the project setting of the project that plays the UHD 50p files? You could switch to 1920x1080 50p during the edit for smooth playback, then when ready to export, switch back to UHD

or you could upgrade to EDIUS9 and have a supported filmconvert and be able to drop preview resolution while editing to allow smooth playback

btw, several of my customers are using filmconvert in EDIUS X even though it is not supported, but I am not going to guarantee that it will work on your PC

Are you sure someone is using filmconvert in edius X? If so, the problem would be resolved:

I am not using film convert but I can assure you that several customers do, maybe they will reply here and confirm

50p 4k files may not run smooth if they are of H264 or H265 type, you can bulk convert them in the bin to HQX and they will play smooth if using the HQX files

also, make sure optical flow is not set as system default

What kind of graphics card can I buy to run smoothly in filmconvert? My nvidia gtx 1060 6GB may be too weak. Would you recommend a card that does not consume much energy but will work?

an RTX 3070 or 3080 or 3090 could help, but I can't guarantee since hardly any third party plugins are supported with X
