Now it's starting to come back to me !! I can capture with firewire using the canopus codec in edius, Dvstorm card did the same but was necessary to run storm edit.
DVC-100 does the same through firewire, also gives me a video out to monitor if needed.

Sorry for the late response been busy but ready to get going..
I want to capture dvcam so I can send old wedding footage to studios. Only ever did this via Dvstorm. I could get a used one or what I'm thinking could be easier is a Dvc-100 , import into Premier or edius and convert. But when I build a new 4K , I'm going to need a video output anyway, would the DVC-100 still surve this purpose?

Older system and edius versions
Hi all ! long time dvstorm / eduis user from 2008 looking to start editing again. I'm beginning to gather info on new system specs etc. Before I'm ready for that probably will dust off my old PC, capture some old DVCAM tapes and start getting back in the flow.

i7-860 ( I think) 2.6G , 6G triple channel memory

Windows 7
Will upgrade to a current SSD drive
what version of Edius should I start back with that's closest to the latest in terms of settings, filters, workflow etc. I only ever captured video with my DVstorm card, what could I use now as a substitute? I might pick up a used one for this, up until what version will it still be recognized? Does Boris Red still plugin to Eduis ?
