i have a DVstorm that has been sitting in a draw for a million years. Does anyone use these anymore? Should I just throw it away or would someone want it? I hate to just throw it away if someone could still use it.

Unless you still have an ancient computer with a PCI slot, you should probably just recycle it.
Kind of sad. I still have a couple of them. My first capture cards.Regards,
Jon

I still have my Matrox MX02 mini max running with Edius 9 and an IP4K sitting next to me that I took out to use the MX02. It will be sad to see the MX02 not be used with Edius when I finally move to Edius X, but I'm hoping I can still use it for analog capture purposes perhaps with a dual load of X and 9, unless BM comes out with an inexpensive card that isn't broken like the IP4K is for analogue capture. The matrox suff used to be excellent at A to D video processing. (might be a little biased there though since Matrox is a Canadian company and I used to be a dealer for them)Edius WG 9.55.9157, various 3rd party plugins, VisTitle 2.9.6.0, Win 7 Ultimate SP1, i7-4790K @ 4GHz with HD4600 GPU embedded, MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, 32GB Kingston HyperX RAM, nVidia GTX Titan Black 6GB GPU, Matrox MX02 Mini MAX, Corsair 750W PSU, Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler, Corsair C70 case, 8TB Internal RAID 0/stripe (2x4TB Seagate SATAIII HDD's, Win7 Software stripe), 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, Pioneer BDR-207D, Dual 1920x1080 monitors (one on GTX and one on Intel HD4600).Comment

You need to use EDIUS 9.30 or earlier in order to make a device preset for analog capture using the MXO2
all versions after 9.30 no longer workAnton Strauss

I am now using a BM analog to SDI mini converter and then connect the SDI to BM Mini Recorder 4k. Using this combination does not suffer from the analog black and white clippingAnton Strauss

I have the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro HD - HDMI and Analog Editing Card, no clipping of black and white.
the 4k version did....did they ever fix that issue?
Comment
-
the issue can't be fixed and will not be fixed because analog is dead and there is no point to fix it in their opinion
but at least they have other products that can be used that don't suffer from this issueAnton Strauss

I've still got some old Iwill DK8N AMD boards running. Very hardy. But sooner or later, a capacitor will blow, or some other component on the motherboard will fail.
The best thing to do to keep old motherboards running is to keep them as cool as possible, and regularly replace your boot drive.Regards,
Jon
