Video cards and Edius 7

Well the reason I upgraded to Edius 7 was the performance boost which i really see. I guess I need to run some tests to see if I really need my nvidia card anymore for the work I do. The only thing it really does is accelerate GPU f/x right?

Remember, being 64-bit does not guarantee any magical speed increase and while I'm on the soapbox, 100% CPU utilization is not necessarily a good thing - "working hardest" doesn't necessarily mean "getting the most done."

Edius is a little faster. That is software optimization. What you are talking about is cpu and gpu horsepower. After all, the speed at which Edius performs is directly related to speed of the cpu and gpu.

Now that Edius is much faster (64 bit and all) Are there really any advantages of having a Nvida card over just the on board Intel cards?
