  • No output in 4:3 with hdspark

    Hello,

this is it: another machine with W7 Edius 6.08 and HDSpark was operated be a guy who doesn't work here with us anymore... almost 2 years and now we found this: NO OUTPUT IN A SD 4:3 PROJECT WITH HDSPARK... full HD and SD 16:9 projects works with the spar but not this... we even changed the monitor to see if that was the problem but nada... no image...

does the HDSpark can output an Edius SD 4:3 project?

please excuse my latin english... does HDMI can output 4:3?

    Thanks

I just switched to PAL 4:3 project - output from Spark is good - maybe your monitor doesn't support 4:3??

Run the EDID tool to find out what resolutions are supported by your monitor.
My monitor has 4x3 in PAL but not in NTSC. But, it supports 640x480 in NTSC...which is worthless.

This is a very common problem we get with lots of monitors. It is not the spark it is the monitor. We have the same issues with other devices and programs like Black Magic and Matrox and the same screens.

It is in the Program Files<>Grass Valley<>Edius 6 directory BUT only if you have a GV Output card like a SPARK etc
Depending on the version it has many names "HSX-E1 Monitor, EDIDMonitor.exe, details in the SPARK or output card Handbook
With 6.5 or later it is in the "Tools" menu

My monitor does not support 4x3 in NTSC but it does in PAL. My monitor does however support SD 16x9 so I use that for assembly purposes only.
