  • P2 clips not showing in folder

When trying to open up a P2video clip (already on hard drive) I see the contents folder, which contains all the subfolders (video, icon, auido, clip).
However when I click to "open file" and load one of these clips into my bin, the Clip folder is empty. I can load the "Video" folder but it does not bring the audio in along with it. Anyone else seen this?

The proper way to work with P2 material in Edius is to use P2 Select -- it can copy and import, or use the files in their current location. You should never just drop individual files from the AUDIO or VIDEO folders into a project since that won't get you all the metadata.

Just don't use "Combine" unless you have a lot of time to waste.

          P2 tip..

hope be usefull: I use Adobe bridge to rename a lot of P2 clips...

instead of have a lot of "200901162-****.mxf" files, i can have "product shot 01*.mxf" and so on....

Edius supports the User Clip Name feature of the Panasonic P2 cameras, so you can set the clip name in the camera without having to rename the files during the import. If you set up the Edius media bin to display the User Clip Name from the metadata, all the clips will be shown with that name instead of the actual MXF file name.

There is an article on how to set this up here:
