As I read the description, seems it's only for the input, as the HDMI input might be RGB444 or YUV444. Upon capture, it goes to YUV422, so beyond that, output ends up YUV422, so it's irrelevant on output as far as I can tell.

As the filter alters the incoming signal, there may be certain instances when you don't want it enabled, so the option exists to disable it.

So the option is to disable a filter that blocks out unnecessary signals when converting from RGB to YUV422 color space or YUV444 to YUV422 color space....Cool.

So that would be irrelevant in the case of HDV editing then?

Hey dudes,

I found a check box in the hardware settings for HD STORM, just wondering what it does (a little more info anywayz). Check box is under HDMI settings and says:

Disable FIR filter at RGB/YUV444 to YUV422 conversion

FIR Filter? What would this achieve? Compatibility with different monitors maybe?
