  • Import Edius project in other Edius project

I am working with a lot of material so it would be great for me if I could import one edius project in to another.
It can be done in Premire and some other apps.
I tried importing as file but it can't be done.
    I am using Edius 5.

Strange because we do that often
import sequence choose project select how it should be imported done.

So why do you say that it can't be done?

Could be confused at it works differently in 4.6 or 5* than 3.*, but it certainly works.
You have to import as a sequence not as previously as a project (projects only import in 4* onwards is via EDL or AAF)

Once imported as a sequence I often SHFT A to “copy” the new sequence and Paste it to where I want it in the working sequence.

        Tnx. I found it.
I wasn't looking in the file menu. I only tried right clicking in the bin.
        Now it works!

I tried importing one project behind the other. I think that I followed your directions and my first project was destroyed and the project that I imported was on the line. I had to go to auto save files to retrieve my original project. Is it in fact possible to have 2 or 3 projects on the line sequentially?

          This is what I did:
          File; Import Sequence; I put the project name under import project;
Which of the items do I need to check in the lower boxes? I tried various combinations and it didn't work for me.

Strange becuase if you import a project it goes to its own sequence tab so all you had to do was click on the other tab to have your project back.
You would have one tab in which you where editing and another tab of the project you imported.

So how was you project distroyed please give more info.

OK I got it figured out. Some details, like "set ripple mode" weren't mentioned and it took me a bit to figure it out.

Quite the process. I'm not good with explanations. Steve (SRsupport), could you explain the whole process of import/copy/paste/set ripple mode/etc., including screen shots where applicable. I believe it would greatly benefit a lot of editors. Until now, I was always told by Edius reps that it could not be done and now that I know it can, it will be extremely useful for me.
