Actually use No Fields (Since 720 is always progressive), I was looking at the 1080i settings for EDIUS projects.

Two quick questions on this same subject

If I have Edius and After Effects installed on the same machine, will AE have access to all of the Canopus codecs (read and write or should I say decode from and encode to)?

How do I export a composition from After Effects with alpha channel, to be used as lower third for example in Edius?

        Thanks,

2 i suggest quicktime (animation codec) millions of colors+ (note the "+") and be sure that your AE comp does have transparency

2a- when importing to EDIUS you may select the "Progressive" option under "field order" to your .mov... it is the best choice to me

Is there no Canopus codec option for the export with alpha? HQ is so much easier on my PC compared to QT...

I know I can transcode the QT file with alpha to CanHQ after import and it will retain the alpha, can I do this directly in AE to skip a step?

P.S. Your English is better than my Spanish, so don't worry, there is nothing you should be ashamed of! Oh and by the way, I love Colombian coffee!

As Steve said, HQ is the better option with Edius.

we (editors here) use QT just to share with anothers PC that may have no EDIUS or canopus codecs, but, i agree that Canopus HQ is better for Edius...
