Is GV Sales open yet?

I have called the sales line a few times and left messages, but no returned calls. It's the 7th of Jan, I would have thought GV sales would be back open now, but the holiday message is still saying they will be back in 09.
Any body know if they are still on holiday?

Pop them an email with your phone number. I've had several emails responded to, and one phone call back. Chris says they are really swamped after the days off.

I had sent them an email first, around Dec 26th. I have not receive a reply yet. It sounds like they could use some help. I wish I lived in CA, close to them. Maybe I could get a job.

What time is the 800 sales number supposed to be answered? In what time zone?

As per the web site:

Office Hours: (Pacific Standard Time):
9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Thursday
9:00am to 3:30pm, Friday

All Grass Valley offices were closed through the two-week Christmas period, reopening this Monday, January 5th. Be aware that there is a significant backlog of inquiries, orders and other sales-related matters to attend to, so there will be some delays initially.

waiting for 5.0 upgrade

I purchased my upgrade from an online vendor right after Christmas and that it supposed to ship out this week from Thompson/Grass Valley here in San Jose. I just got an email from that vendor this morning stating that Thompson/Grass Valley ran out and the next shipment will be in January 19th +.

I got the same email about the next shipment being the week of January 19th. It also stated that they were "stunned" that GV would take over a month to get a stock of software in and apologized for the delay. Wow, and all offices closed for the complete 2 week holiday, must be nice. Sounds like GV may be stuck in mindset of the old days of a booming economy. Hope they don't find out too late that a new business model may be in order. Of course, could be that the 2 week closure of offices was a cost-cutting measure. That would be more likely these days.

Guys, the USA sales dept for Desktop products in the Grass Valley line (aka the old Canopus line), is currently undergoing reform due to the current economic climate.

Essentially, such reform is going to mean changes (and unfortunately delays) to the day-to-day processes, and how we communicate with potential sales clients.

All we (at the forums) can ask is that a bit of patience and understanding be employed during these testing times. We'll get to each and every one of you, that is for certain.

I don't mind being patience. I did order V5 Edius and I'm guessing it will show up sometime. I had sent the sales Dept. an email asking to purchase a Spark board while is was still on sale (before 12-31-08), but never received a reply. I'm hoping they still honor the sale price that was shown on the web site. It was before the end of the year when I asked to purchase it.
