quicktime crashes

Trying to output a test file in quicktime from the Edius 5.01 timeline. Every time I go to export the file, it crashes back to the desktop. WMV works fine, as does MPEG output. With quicktime, however, no luck!
Any clues? I did a search but couldn't find a relevant thread.

try reinstalling quicktime... version 7.5 (included on the installation) didn´t work here, the 7.2 version (also included) made the job...

Have you tried using QuickTime Player, loading a file (any supported format) into it and then exporting the file from within it?

I also know of a crash problem that occurs on some systems unless QuickTime Preferences -> Advanced -> GDI Only is checked.

I installed the latest 7.55.90.70 Quicktime player from Apple's site and Edius no longer crashes when trying to export a .mov file. Thanks for that idea.

Now I get a .mov file that plays fine in other applications including Irfanview and Windows Media Player (I test a lot of stuff in easy-to-use Irfanview).

But playing it in Edius gives me no audio...although I can see the waveform on the VA track. I also see the audio is listed as 48K, uncompressed...is there a best setting to use in the Edius Quicktime export for audio that Edius will like?
