      Logging at startup?

Does anyone know if Edius creates a log file when starting that would help to figure out where starting process actually fails?

As far as I am concerned, I restored my system to a previous restoration point with nVidia driver 178.13, and now Edius 4.61 runs smoothly.

Weirdly, I faced again the same problem (ie Edius won't start) after Compagny of Heroes game installation. Restoring system to previous configuration solved the problem one more time (but it removes the game...).
Interesting thing: Game installation is refered as "Installed DirectX" in Windows System Restore tool.

I also installed the latest DirectX redist package from Microsoft, which didn't help...

Be Assured GAMES and Video Editing Mix like oil and water
If you want to play games get another computer or suffer the consequences, not just Edius but Premier and all the others from what I have seen
Your problem with the video driver could be tied up with Quicktime, do you have the latest version 7.5.5
Also try setting quicktime to GUI playback only in the Preferences Video acceleration and see if this helps
The last GOOD nvidea driver was back at version 93 after that I had nothing but problems with any "Direct Draw" program and it seemed to be tied up with the interaction with Quicktime, I now use ATI
Make sure when you can get back in to Edius, set the Video Overlay to Direct3D9

          Thanks Barry for your advice.
I agree, editing and games is not a good mix.
I will check your recommendations regarding QuickTime and Direct3D9.

          Regards
