    E 5 Start up

After I loaded E5 for the first time the splash screen would come up and I could see the loading taking place as the green line tracked across the box until the end upon which E5 started. Now the green line only gets to a fifth of the way across , E 5 starts up but with a dialogue box that says " Unknown error has occured Do you want to load the last saved file?" When I answer yes I get a dialogue box that says E5 is opening up in read only mode and warns that to continue further I must save the project with a different name. Seemingly there is no problem as E 5 operates smoothly and everything works as it should. This could be a Vista problem of course. Has anybody had the same problem?

E5 is pretty slow out of the blocks every time. Kind of a pain. I've had good and bad luck with Vista, still sorting it out. :~/
I think once you get your project saved properly (then exit Edius safely) things should be okay.

I use Edius in Vista 64 the slowness on startup of big projects is also something I have seen.

My projects start without a problem.

          Seems fixed in 5.01

          Hi John

Are you using 5.01 or just 5.0, we saw this behaviour with 5.0 but it seems fixed in 5.01.
We only had 5.0 installed for about a week before 5.01 came out, we were to busy playing that we forgot about posting the issue here. Loading has been fine since the 5.01 update.

          Regards, Dave.

I am also getting this same error with 5.0 then 5.01. Click no and choose project from the main screen and it loads without any problems. It is bizarre. This happens no matter which project I have been working on previously. I have also saved project files on top of them selves (i.e. save as then same name) and with new project names. It is an intermittent problem.
