  • HP Workstations and Edius SP

    Hello,

I need an HP system to plug in the Edius SP boards and work with Edius. I saw on the canopus website that the turnkey systems are based on the HP 8200. However these workstations are not available any more...

Has anyone tried HP 8400 series with Edius SP?

    Thank you

The 8400 uses a motherboard with 5000X chipset, so there's a great chance that it will work.

Thank you Zorro but I need to know for sure...I can't risk buying a workstation like this if there is a small chance of not being compatible...

The system in question is now based on the xw8400, which works fine.

The turnkey pages are scheduled for a refurb, and should be changed by the end of the month.

One thing to be aware of though...
The rentention bracket for holding the graphics card down will get in the way of both the video and FireWire cables connecting the HD Expansion and the mainboard. It'll fit, but you must be VERY careful not to damage the connectors.
