HD Storm cannot be installed on a news Win XP System

Why do a full install again and loose everything, why not just back up the registry from the XP disk and do a reinstall of the systems Registry, then just delete the old registry file that was renamed normally called (Old Win) this way you won't loose anything. Easy... and before anyone asks it replaces the system files in the reg, and will remove files that are no longer needed. i.e StormHD...

If HD Storm cannot remove its own entries how would you expect the registry to second guess this requirement?

It's to do with reinstalling the registry without removing the software, (i.e operating system) and it will remove any hardware configurrations from the registry, but I don't advice on doing this unless you know what you are doing, it basically restores the registry to the default from when you first setup windows.

this will also render any software that was installed after windows useless

so a full reformat may not be a bad thing, or in my case, I always have a ghost image of the OS only installation that I can restore in a few minutes

Not really Anton, their is ways around this to protectcertain software that you have installed, you might loose a couple of programs though, as I said earlier though I wouldn't go there mate unless you really feel confident in the registry, I have done it quite a few times and on clients machines, but I know the registry very very well.

P.S My new Sony PDW-700 Xdcam is going really well mate, have you got yours yet? I have another wedding coming up soon which it will be used at, I thought my little Sony HVR-Z7P was good. My cousin is heading of overseas again soon and I have him getting me a few more bits and pieces for it, I will giive you a ring in a few weeks and have a talk about it, Just got out of hospital after having a tumor removed from above my heart and don't feel real good at the moment.
