  • V5 Smooth Timeline cursor

So how does your timeline cursor behave? Is it jumpy, smooth, sticky?
does it depend on whether or not the buffer is filling?

Mine hops, jumps, and sticks, sometimes does not move untill buffer is full,
it does this even when playing back in realtime without any loaded tracks.

    Paul,

Oh dear, this seems to be similiar to jumping cusers that occured in earlier versions of Edius 1 or 2 I believe. With out access to the old forums I can't remember what caused it as I never suffered.

Fortunately I have just upgraded to five on a similiar system to yours and all appears ok. DVC at Portslade did the upgrade as I had a new graphics card and a single 1000 gig hard drive fitted at the same time.. Maybe somebody on here can remember and post the solution.

    Regards

I also have the same effect on my Vista laptop, I'll check with Ringo tommorow as DVC are putting a dual quadcore together for me - maybe it's just needing more grunt.

        Hi Paul,

Having given it some thought, graphic card problems come to mind, but I can't be sure.

        regards

There were some reports of this happening earlier in E5. I don't know the status of it at the moment, but I think it will be fixed in the coming update.
