  • Import mkv to Edius 5 ?

Is there any solution to import video matroska file (*.mkv) to Edius 5? I've tried Avisynth (*.avs) but it failed to import.

Having never heard of this file system, I popped it into Google, got chapter, verse and a free download for software to convert it. Took all of 59 seconds.

MKV and AVIsynth scripts are not supported.

You might, however, have more success by splitting the MKV file into its separate components. There's a free utility that can do that for you (MKVToolnik)

        Thanks for your replies.
I used MKVExtractGUI to get some separate components from the MKV file. But when i used Media info to check these separate components, i found that the playtime of the video component (h264) is not the same as the the source file (mkv). So i can't edit by this solution.
If i used Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, i can import the MKV file by a plugin (AVS plugin for APP). But editing by APP is very slow and i prefer to use Edius.
But when i use Edius to edit my customer's project, i have to use Procoder to transcode MKV file to another container. But it took me so much time to complete my work. and i'm searching for another solution to improve it.

There isn't any other solution - EDIUS does not (and likely will not) support AVS-wrapped data.

Did you at least try and import the demuxed streams into EDIUS?
