  • Manual "localize" function

I've reported this before (old forum) and reported this as an issue, but perhaps someone has found a solution meanwhile: is there a way to disable the automatic localize function in Edius in order to get the default English interface?

On my system the automatic localize function produces an interface mixing 3 language.

    question: you speak german ????

    a) with 3 languages .... it looks for old rudiment fom old 3.2 or 3.5
in these old times it needs often to manually deinstall the "localice" per:
start >> settings >> control panel>> software (wih activate the "view update's") >> "Edius Localice"

    b) with a clean install (without rudiment fom old 3.2 "localice") after 3.5 are only variants with 2 languages known for me.

    c) automatic localize function detecting the language from the setting:
start >> settings >> control panel>> region + language options

the most from the UI are (fast removable) to switch over above setting, .. i.e. to " English (Great Britain) "

    d) for a contiune change to english,
rename in ...\Programme\Canopus\Edius\Localice the folder from your "control panel>> region" language
i.e. the folder " fra " to " _fra " ...... and Edius will start in english.......

    e) other UI parts are in the "MstrPsDB.tpd" included ..... search for it , and rename it, close Edius + Windows
new start up, and Edius build it new.....
Attention, if I remember right..... in the "MstrPsDB.tpd" eventually your "personally individual effekt presets" saved
    they are lost.......

    a) - d) things self found + tested between >> german and english User Interface
    e) is a hint from german support ....Hr Kexel

please excuse my "gibberish" english, it is a hard work for me, in the strange language.....

friendly greetings from europe\austria\vienna ...... old Hans

        a) => yes, I started with Edius 3.2 and upgraded + localized systematically => probably the Dutch part of the actual interface in Edius 4.24 is a trace of the old localizations.

        b) clean install => no time to try this now => I'll probably try this when 4.5 is available

        c) we've discussed this option on the old forum => it works but in principle but I also need to change the keyboard settings, meaning using a azerty-keyboard with qwerty-setting => no so easy

        d) I've renamed yesterday the complete localize-folder without any effect

        e) no such file on my pc !?

Let's for better times and a manual localize function in the future.

Vielen dank, Hans und herzliche grüssen aus Belgien. (next time I visit Wien, we'll drink a beer or more together)

            d) I've renamed yesterday the complete localize-folder without any effect
I renamed today (as test) the complete localize-folder [ only OS runs, before Edius start !!!] => Edius coming up in english, in spite of the OS locations-setting to "german-austria"

            e) no such file on my pc !?
to bet for 1/8 lt. from best "white wine from Grinzing" ....=> it is on your PC ???
look under "Adresse" at the path from the folders......the key is: the folder "Anwendungsdaten" is a >hidden folder<

try a new search, with 3 new setting under "Extras" => "Folderoptions",

end of part 1, => forced from max 4 images limitations ...... :-(((

Example from same PC, with no activate "Hidden Elements searching" .....result: no file found......

Example from same PC, with activate "Hidden Elements searching" ....result: all file found..... I love white wine from "Grinzing"

please, excuse my miserable english, I hope my pictures a bit better understandable

                I found the files!
And tested your suggestions + I've done some further experiments with language and keyboard settings.

The shortcut-key were shown in French (see the screenshot above) => just changing the notation from "point" to "komma" for my keyboard solves this matter! The shortcut-keys are shown in English. Incredible.

The fact that the "system preset"-folder is shown as "systeemvoorkeuren" doesn't bother me so much and can be changed as you explained with the overall language settings + I guess with a clean install it will disappear.

So thank you for you patience and time, you've lead me to a solution!
