  • Smooth Transition

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to Edius, I would like to make a smooth transition on clip of
the bride & groom dancing. I want the clip to change from color to
black & white really smooth without noticing the actual dissolve between
the two clips images. I saw this done on some of the demo video's
at the WEVA convention. Any help would be appreciated!!

    Thank's
    Mitch-K

You can do this with the Blend filter. Within it, set one side to use the monochromatic filter and then set a desired keyframe style to apply the effect smoothly.

you can also do it using keyframes in the color balance filter....

Why not just have one part of the clip B&W and then a simple long dissolve transition.

You can stack the two clips, 1 on top of the other, and use the transparency mix handles to create a dissolve between the two. The two clips will be exactly alike, except for the b&w version. You can run the dissolve for as long as you want...or until the clip runs out.
