  • Does BorisFX work with Edius 5?

If so does it work in the same fashion as before?

    Thanks
    Brad

no, I am in contact with Boris and they told me they are still working on a way to overcome the incorrect field render

so at this stage I would not bother installing Boris

you could force a render of the BorisFX transition with Shift+Q and then change the field order in the resulting clip

however, changing the field order of the rendered clip in Edius5 fixes the footage of the transition to be field order correct, but this breaks the field order of the actual transition movement, so a page turn will look jerky while the footage that is being page turned looks smooth

by default, a BorisFX transition in Edius looks smooth as far as the movement of the effect goes, but the footage itself has the wrong field order for the duration of the transition, a real mess

this problem started with Edius4.5, if you have Edius 3 or 4, then BorisFX works perfect

no news on any fix other than that Boris don't support Edius5 at this stage and don't know if they ever will, they seem very (faul) at the moment
