If you shot it in dv mode then it needs to be 720X480 project, if HDV mode then it needs to be in 1440X1080 59.94 assuming you used interlaced mode and not the other 2 progressive mode.

sensor is 1920. Recorded format is HDV 1440 thus you capture 1440.

Cannon HV20 – what should it do?
Hi there,
I’m trying to capture from a friends Cannon HV20 mini DV camera which I believe to be to be capable of 1920x1080 - but I can’t seem to persuade Edius to play ball.
If I switch my Edius input to 1440x1080 I get monitor preview and audio fine, but if I switch to 1920x1080 I get audio no visual?
Searching the net tells me the cam is capable of 1920 x 1080 but I’ve read some post that talk about using it in only 1440x1080.
Does anyone out there have one of these cameras or any experience capturing from one?
Thanks for reading!Tags: None
