Actually the MP3 theory is only partly sound.
It is true that if you can avoid it, never use MP3's on your time line, but I do have to say that most of my audio is stored at my file server as MP3 320 Kbps CBR and never gives any sync issue.
Mostly you will get in to trouble only with VBR MP3 audio, so only use CBR or better still WAV if possible.

Hopefully you’ve found it but basically you have to make sure your file is 48K it doesn’t matter what audio format you use anything at 44.1K in a 48K project will slip out of sinc over time.

Most probaby you're dealing with the mp3-wav issue. Try converting mp3 file into wav and use it instead of mp3 in your timeline.

    I said PROBABLY. ;)

Disregard my post here for time being...Sorry I must've missed it earlier when I searched this forum. I tried again and found another thread about the same issue and hopefully I can correct the problem through what was suggested.

    Weird sync problem...Help please

I'm editing in Edius 4.5 and I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out a problem I've never encountered before. I have a whole bunch of clips up and I'm editing them to music. I always edit to the beat or lyrics of the song and as I'm editing it, it all looks and sounds the way I want it to, certain clips matched with certain parts of the song, etc. But when I go back to the beginning of the timeline and start playing it through to watch the entire sequence, it seems like somehow it becomes out of sync. The clips are not over the same parts in the song anymore.

The weird part is, if I stop the timeline, then go to any part of the line and play it from a later point, it will be in sync again as I had intended it to be. I've figured out that the timeline will play from any point for approximately 7 seconds before it starts to become out of sync.

I can't seem to find any setting in Edius that would do this or if I may have clicked on something by accident to cause this. I've been using this version of Edius on the same computer for months and this is the first time I've ever come across this problem. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!!
