  • capturing offline quality?

Hi, I'm currently working on a hugh sd project (100 hours or so), and I was wondering if there's a way to capture the tapes in offline quality (small, low-quality files), edit, and than capture the used material in full quality.
    Thanks in advance

Not currently with Edius. But a feature request has already been made for proxy editing.

That's bad to hear. Does anybody know of any workaround to do that? Capturing offline with another program, importing into edius and than recapturing full quality after editing?

          DD's right!
Drives are so cheap and editing DV is so easy, why worry?

Scan a Mini-DV Tape for all Scenes in just 5 Minutes
Use Capture / Tape Index and Sclive will capture the whole tape in FastForward.
after approx. 5 minutes of indexing, Sclive shows a list of all scenes found on the Tape.
This list can be used for Smart Batchcapturing: Simply set a checkmark on each scene that you want to capture in full motion, and then start "Smart Batchcapturing

1 hr of dv takes about 13 gig If memory serves me well so 100 hrs would be 1.3 TB ish

Get a 2 TB raid and you are done in full resolution

2 1 tb drives are about 160 uk pounds a raid card about 80

                Job done!
